Kathy Lorenz, owner of The Healing Journey in Pleasanton, CA, is an Advanced CranioSacral and Acupressure Therapist, Tai Chi instructor and Personal Trainer. Kathy has been in practice in CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and Acupressure since 1998. She became diplomate-certified in CST by the Upledger Institute in 2009. Her Advanced Acupressure certification, specializing in Pain Management, was awarded in 2006 by the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, California. Additional integrative therapies that she has advanced training in are Biodynamic CST, Zero Balancing, Visceral Manipulation and Lymph Drainage. Her Personal Strength Training program is based on SuperSlow-style exercises done in an environment that promotes mindfulness while improving overall health. What I do:
Since beginning my therapeutic practice in 1998, I have enjoyed working with adults, children and animals to support their healing and well-being. CranioSacral Therapy provides the foundation for bringing one’s own resources and body wisdom into functional medicine from within. The range of applications is unlimited. For those who see me for anxiety, chronic or acute pain that isn’t resolving, energy deficiency, cancer treatment symptoms and other difficulties report to me that they have gained relief and ability to move forward in their lives. I integrate Lymph Drainage, Zero Balancing, Visceral Manipulation, Acupressure and BodyTalk to amplify the benefits.
I have realized in my own life the importance of actively participating in being healthy. Two profoundly beneficial practices I use are Tai Chi and ZenStrength Training. As a certified trainer, I enjoy teaching these practices to those who want efficient, skilled support for healthy aging and just feeling good. I run ongoing weekly Tai Chi for Health classes at my studio and at the Pleasanton Senior Center. My one-on-one strength training sessions are scheduled in ½-hour sessions twice a week, with a sustained commitment. The enjoyment of feeling confident and strong becomes a powerful motivation to engage life more fully!
